This application is for consideration in the FCAR Spay/Neuter Assistance Program. FCAR has limited funding available to assist pet owners in Fayette County with spaying or neutering their companion animals. FCAR DOES NOT IN ANY WAY GUARANTEE FUNDING PRIOR TO APPROVAL OF YOUR APPLICATION. FCAR RESERVES THE RIGHT TO CANCEL OR SUSPEND THIS PROGRAM AT ANY TIME WITHOUT NOTICE.
Your application will be reviewed by FCAR representatives and you will be notified within 30 days of submission if it has been approved or declined.
This program is focused on providing spay/neuter services to in-need segments of our community. Focus areas include citizens in the following categories: low income, on government assistance, WIC, Medicaid, Food Stamps, Social Security, seniors, students, animals on our Waiting List or referred through Fayette County Animal Control. We encourage everyone to complete an application for spay/neuter. If we are unable to assist you, we can work with you to find alternative programs or services. If approved, additional details will be provided to you on how to use this assistance program.
This program provides financial assistance in the spaying/neutering only, and the fee covered for this service is limited. Any fees incurred over the approved limit will be the sole responsibility of the pet owner.
It is the responsibility of the pet owner to schedule the appointment and transport the animal to the veterinarian or clinic.
*Some veterinarians require the animal be vaccinated prior to surgery. If your animal is not vaccinated the veterinarian is offering shots at a discounted price. It is the responsibility of the pet owner to pay for the shots prior to surgery and this cost will not be reimbursed. If you cannot afford to pay for the vaccinations, please discuss with an FCAR representative for financial assistance review.
**IMPORTANT! All cats spayed/neutered by this program by default will have their ears clipped unless you specifically instruct the vet on the day of your cats' surgery that you do not want their ear clipped. For more information on ear clipping click here.
Once an application has been approved, the pet owner has 60 days to spay/neuter the animal. If the animal has not been spayed/neutered within 60 days of approval, the agreement will be voided and no longer valid. After this 60 day period owners will need to resubmit their application for review. Previous approval of an application in no way guarantees approval of a re-submitted application.
